17.11.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Rockefeller, Oslo )

Thursday, November 17th, 2005

My last concerts of this tour, the “big finale” so to say, were two concerts in Oslo in Rockefeller. I must admit that I was just a wee bit sceptical about that – I mean, I’ve seen this show often enough now, and as the Rockefeller concerts were not the last concerts of the tour (only MY last concerts), I didn’t expect any suprises. Actually, there were no surprises – except for the fact that those concerts were among the best I’ve ever seen, and well, Kaizers are just the very very best band live!

6.10.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Vega, Kopenhagen)

Thursday, October 6th, 2005

During the next day I did some more sightseeing – but somehow I wasn’t that impressed. Maybe because I walked around fairly aimlessly ’cause I had no idea about what to visit in Copenhagen? Or maybe I was just too tired? Or maybe Copenhagen is not really the most interesting city to visit? I don’t know, but it didn’t matter, I was not bored, and at night we went back to Vega. This time up to the gallery, ’cause I didn’t really want to go through all the pushing and sweating down in the front again – and also, ’cause I finally wanted to SEE what happens in the audience when Killmaster runs through the crowd and the Jackal jumps and so on. *g*

5.10.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Vega, Kopenhagen)

Wednesday, October 5th, 2005

So, at the end of the tour (for me) two concert in Copenhagen – yeah! You just gotta experience the Danish audience once, or so I was told. *g* Getting there in the Kaizermobil, then a litte speed-sightseeing, then to the Vega. There I was completely surprised, I had expected something different, like people getting in line hours before the concert and a huge crowd in front of the place half an hour before the doors opened. OK, there were some people there, but not nearly as many as I would have expected. Which was good for us, of course. *g*

4.10.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Modernes, Bremen)

Tuesday, October 4th, 2005

OK, at some point in time there had to be a “stupid” concert. And today was the day – but it definitely wasn’t due to the band. They were giving all they had, as always, and the concert could have been one of my greatest shows. If the audience had been interested in what was happening on stage… but nobody cared. This was already obvious during Geoff Berner’s performance. I was in second row, and behind me – nothing. OK, maybe 10-20 people were standing there, but all the other people in the audience were sitting somewhere in the back, out of sight. Terrible! At least there were some “hardcore-fans” there, so we could do something to heat up the atmosphere (we even managed to get the first row to clap along, ain’t that great? *argh*), but the rest of the audience consisted of the worst and most boring people I’ve ever seen, at a concert, at least. If someone feels offended by that – good, this is exactly what I wanna say. *grr*

3.10.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Tivoli, Utrecht)

Monday, October 3rd, 2005

The night in Utrecht started in a funny way – we had no idea where to go. OK, we had a street name, but Utrecht isn’t THAT small… So we were just going the way we thought should be about right, we only had a tiny map with very few street names on it, and soon we were completely lost. I stop by the side of the road to take my own look at the map and realize that we were exactly in the street we were looking for! And exactly in front of the house we were looking for. And just standing on a parking spot anyway. Unbelievable. *gg*

2.10.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Ringlokschuppen, Bielefeld)

Sunday, October 2nd, 2005

Somehow it’s always the same thing – the longer I’m on tour, the later I get to the shows… This time we got such a nice dinner that we couldn’t really get away from it and took much longer than we planned. But well, to make up for that we found the club without any problems and thus arrived about 10 minutes before Geoff Berner started – perfect, what else could you want! So there was just enough time to say hello to everybody and then the concert started.

1.10.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Gebäude 9, Köln)

Saturday, October 1st, 2005

Now, what the hell was that?!? This was somehow different. No idea WHAT was different, but it was definitely good. =;-)

30.9.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Karlstorbahnhof, Heidelberg)

Friday, September 30th, 2005

Waah, and now the tour really started. So I will just ignore all the work and the chaos of the last week, and it didn’t even matter too much that I needed about three hours for the 150 kilometers to Heidelberg. So I arrived at Karltorbahnhof together with Shirin and two friends who were converted to Kaizers-fans at the last Heidelberg concert – and the club was packed! =:-o Last time, there was hardly anybody there, and this time it was so crowded you could hardly get in the front and people were standing outside in the hall because the concert hall was packed and they couldn’t get inside. Totally crazy, where do all those people come from? Wow!

29.9.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (Backstage, München)

Thursday, September 29th, 2005

This report is a little difficult for me, actually. Just because the concert was great as always and in no respect worse than any of the other shows of the tour, but well, I was in a very bad mood and grumpy and frustrated. This means I loved the show while it was going on, but afterwards, everything was stupid – including the concert, of course. So I’m not sure if I can write an good and objective report, but I’ll try.

25.9.2005 Kaizers Orchestra (X-tra, Zürich)

Sunday, September 25th, 2005

Zürich lies exactly on the way back from Bern anyway, but honestly, it didn’t really matter to me, I would have gone to that show anyway even if it had been in the complete opposite direction. *g* The special thing about this concert was the complete contrast to the show before – yesterday they played in front of no more than 300 people in a “living room”, today suddenly in a huge hall that has room for 1800 people. I guess there were about 800-1000 people there, and it even looked quite crowded, as they were smart enough to close the gallery. =;-) And the contrast to the Bern concert was really impressive. While it was basically impossible yesterday to stand on the barrels, it was impossible today to somehow touch the ceiling, even by throwing the axe handles up into the air. While it was (almost *g*) possible yesterday to hand over a beer from the stage to the front-of-house, I didn’t even SEE the front-of-house from the front of the hall. And so on, I could enumerate more points but… you get the picture.
