Ryanair sucks. It is cheap, it is reliable, but why the hell does it have to leave at 6 something in the morning? So, if you meet me at some concert in Norway, don’t even bother to ask why I look like I didn’t get any sleep the last few days. I probably didn’t.

16.3.2007 Skambankt (Drammen)
Friday, March 16th, 20073.3.2007 Skambankt (Copenhagen)
Saturday, March 3rd, 2007After a funny episode in the record store (“Can we get those Skambankt posters?” – “Sure. Hey, you’re the ones who took photos of the posters yesterday, right?” Photos?? We?!? NEVER! *rofl*) and a long and silent train ride, only disturbed by the conductor running off with our tickets (“I need to check this!” – yeah, we are evil foreigners, but we forgot to pack the stones anyway…), we arrived in Copenhagen to the sound of police sirens. Luckily this was all we got to see of the riots – there was LOTS of police everywhere, but things seemed to have calmed down. But we stayed in the city center, so who knows what was happening elsewhere…

2.3.2007 Skambankt (Voxhall, Århus)
Friday, March 2nd, 2007After a much too short night in a much too stinky hotel room and a much too dry shower, we got on the train to Århus. Not without collecting a stack of free newspapers on the way… “Street war!” – “This is just the beginning!” – “Nørrebro turned into a combat zone!” – “Police: Keep your kids away!” Hmm… maybe we should skip Copenhagen. Or maybe we should at least pick up some cobblestones on the way? =;-) Or well, maybe we should just assume that the Danish press isn’t better than the German.

1.3.2007 Skambankt (Aalborg)
Thursday, March 1st, 2007Three concerts in a row, fairly close together. Starting on my birthday. It didn’t take long to decide which concerts of the tour I definitely wanted to see! Plus, I had heard a lot of praise about the concerts in Denmark, and now I wanted to see it for myself.

29.1.2007 Skambankt (Oslo)
Monday, January 29th, 2007Skambankt release their new album, and of course they celebrate it with a release concert at Mono in Oslo. It took me about five seconds to decide I want to be there. =;-) And it was the right decision, the concert was amazing!

20.10.2006 Skambankt (Checkpoint Charlie, Stavanger)
Friday, October 20th, 2006"This is a once in a lifetime, I doubt Skambankt will ever play in such a small club once again" is not a fair thing to say to a concert junkie. Especially, if this small club is a minimum of eight hours traveling away – and we’re talking just traveling time here, no waiting, checking in, whatever… So it was an easy decision to just ignore the concert and NOT go there.

4.3.2006 Skambankt (John Dee, Oslo )
Saturday, March 4th, 2006There seems to be some kind of curse on Skambankt concerts. At least if I want to go there… last year, the concert was moved to another date on very short notice. This year, the day before the concert, Germany drowned in snow… which wouldn’t have been a problem, if it hadn’t been a Friday with the streets crammed with stupid Dutchmen (sorry Dissident *g*) with summer tires. Argh. So it took me about eight hours to get to the airport, instead of two and a half as normal… But well, luckily I’m paranoid enough to not leave just in time for the plane, so I didn’t miss my plane but just several hours of sleep. And as we all know, sleeping is for dead people anyway… =;-)

19.3.2005 Skambankt (Drammen)
Saturday, March 19th, 2005The Saturday started with LOTS of shopping. I wanted some CDs and DVDs, and in the end I found about everything I was looking for and spent far too much money. Plus I visited some of the sights again and took some very nice pictures, as the sun was shining very nicely, and even though it was damned cold, everything looked just beautiful. The only TERRIBLE thing that happend this day was that when I went into freerecordstore, and had just started to look at the offers, they played SCHNAPPI! Hey! There’s so much good music in Germany – why do you guys import all the crap??? I thought I was away from that stupid crocodile for a while, but now… it’s after me. Just because you’re paranoid… Ähm ja. Back to nicer memories. =;-)
