Über mich

Tja, jede private Webseite braucht eine “Über mich”-Seite mit einer Selbstdarstellung, oder?

Schuld an dieser Seite bin also ich: Ruth Fuchss, Jahrgang ’79, auf Konzerten und im Internet eher bekannt als Susi S. Es war eine blöde Idee, sich einen Spitznamen auszudenken, das macht nur Probleme. Insbesondere, wenn es auch noch ein BLÖDER Spitzname ist. Allerdings hab ich das zu spät gemerkt, und da hatte ich mich schon dran gewöhnt. Wer mich also auf Konzerten mit “Ruth” anspricht, muss damit rechnen, dass ich nicht reagiere… ;-)

Ich bin ein Konzertjunkie, wie wohl schon offensichtlich ist. Durchschnittlich komm ich so ungefähr auf ein Konzert pro Woche, und zwar nicht, um möglichst viele Konzerte zu sehen oder “der beste Fan zu sein”, sondern einfach, weil es Spaß macht. Kann es ein schöneres Hobby geben? Für mich nicht.

Ich werde jetzt nicht anfangen, meine Lieblingsbands aufzuzählen, dann wäre ich morgen noch dabei. Die Plätze eins bis drei sind wohl von Kaizers Orchestra, Skambankt und den Ärzten belegt – in jeweils wechselnder Reihenfolge. Und dicht gefolgt von gaaaaanz vielen anderen Bands. Einen Überblick darüber, was ich so alles mag, erhält man einfach, indem man sich die Liste meiner Konzerte anguckt. Das muss reichen.

Natürlich gibt es in meinem Blog noch sehr viel mehr Infos über mich – größtenteils drehen sich die Einträge dort aber auch viel um Musik und Konzerte. Und um Norwegen, ein Land, das mich nie interessiert hat – bis ich mich in eine Band aus diesem Land verliebt habe. Nun ja, mittlerweile spreche ich relativ fließend Norwegisch, die Hälfte meiner Lieblingsbands kommt aus Norwegen und ich selbst bin jedes Jahr einige Male da und habe das Gefühl, in der Kultur mehr und mehr heimisch zu werden.

Leben tu ich aber immer noch in Deutschland. ;)

Well, every private website needs an “About me” page with some kind of self-portrayal, right?

OK, so the one who’s to be blamed for this site is me: Ruth Fuchss, born in ’79. At concerts and on the internet, hardly anybody knows me by my real name, but rather by my nickname Susi S. And yes, it was a stupid idea to come up with a nickname – this only gives you trouble. Especially when it is a STUPID nickname. But I noticed that way too late, and by then, I had gotten used to it. So by now you have to expect that I don’t respond when you call me “Ruth” at a concert… ;)

As you might have noticed, I am a concert junkie. On average, I visit about one concert per week. Not because I want to visit as many concerts as possible or be “the best fan”, but simply because it is great fun. Could you imagine a nicer hobby than this? I can’t.

I won’t start to enumerate my favorite bands here, otherwise I couldn’t stop. The top three bands are probably Kaizers Orchestra, Skambankt, and Die Ärzte – at varying positions. And followed up by looooots of other bands. If you want to get an impression of what kind of music I like, just take a look at the list of my concerts. That’s gotta be enough.

Of course there’s a lot more information about me in my blog. Most entries there deal with music and concerts as well. And with Norway, a country that I never really cared about – until I fell in love with a band from that country. And well… by now I speak Norwegian more or less fluently, a lot of my favorite bands come from Norway, and I travel there several times a year and have the feeling to get more and more comfortable with the culture there each time.

But I still live in Germany. ;)
