Tuesday, April 15th, 2008Hmm… Kreuzberg ist auch nicht mehr das, was es mal war. Im Burgerladen direkt neben dem SO36 läuft Michael Jackson, und der tolle Punk-Plattenladen in der Oranienstrasse hat auf Hardcore umgesattelt… *seufz* Egal, trotzdem war es schön, mal wieder in Berlin zu sein – und obwohl mittlerweile irgendwie alle meiner Berliner Bekannten wieder aus Berlin weg sind, traf ich beim Konzert trotzdem sofort auf bekannte Gesichter. Hach, schön… =:-)

Hmm… seems that Kreuzberg isn’t what it used to be. There’s Michael Jackson on the radio at a burger place right next to SO36, and the great punk record store on Oranienstrasse turned into a hard core store… =:-( Nevertheless it was nice being back in Berlin – and even though most people I used to know in Berlin have moved away again, I bumped into people I knew right away. So nice! =:-)

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006Und weiter nach Berlin… Los ging’s schon lange vor dem Konzert, nachmittags im Museum. Dort war nämlich eine Ausstellung zum Thema Norwegen – und ein Exponat war ein kaizerliches Ölfaß. Als Verbindung von Technik und Kultur, sprich Öl und Musik, wie wir erfuhren. Kurzfristig war ein Pressetermin angesetzt worden, zu dem auch Omen und der Jackal erschienen. Leider wußte keiner so wirklich, was passieren sollte – aber da neben einigen deutschen auch noch Fans aus Polen und Norwegen vor Ort waren, war die Wartezeit recht kurzweilig. =;-) Und irgendwann erschien dann auch die Pressesprecherin des Museums, um (auf Deutsch… ) ein bißchen was zur Ausstellung zu erzählen. Danach dann noch eine Fragestunde mit Kaizers und ein Haufen Fotos, und dann war auch noch ein bißchen Zeit, um die Ausstellung zu bewundern.

The next show in Berlin… But it started long before the concert already, with a visit to the museum. There was an exhibition about Norway – featuring a real Kaizers Orchestra oil barrel! As we learned later, this was to represent the relation between technics and culture, thus oil and music. There was a press conference planned for this day where the Jackal and Omen turned up to answer some questions. The only problem was that nobody really knew what was supposed to happen – but this didn’t matter too much as there were some Polish and Norwegian fans there as well. Which means we could chat a little while waiting, and then the press representative of the museum turned up to tell a bit about the exhibition (in German…). After that, Kaizers answered some questions, there were a lot of pictures, and in the end we could look at the exhibition for a moment.

OK, so Skambankt are coming to Germany, wow! On a weekday. To Berlin. But well – if I can go to Norway for concerts, I just HAVE to see the concert in Germany, right? Sadly I didn’t have any vacation left… but hey, what could possibly be more “punk” than getting on a plane directly after work, flying to Berlin, seeing a concert, sleeping on the floor, getting back on the plane veeeeery early the next morning and going directly back to work? =;-)

Wednesday, September 14th, 2005Das zweite Konzert in Deutschland, quasi um die Ecke, nämlich in Berlin. Gerade mal zweieinhalb Stunden Fahrt, vorher konnte ich dann an der Raststätte noch schnell meinen Hamburg-Bericht schreiben, dann rein nach Berlin (diesmal ohne Blitzer, glaub ich *g*), trotz Verfahrens zielstrebig direkt an den Club. Ich hab mich dann doch entschieden, den Tonmenschen NICHT umzufahren, obwohl er einfach über die Straße rennen mußte =;-), und dann gab’s auch noch ‘nen Parkplatz ganz in der Nähe und ein Treffen mit ‘nem lieben Freund, ein Internetcafé zum Bericht-Online-Bringen, was zu essen und dann war’s auch schon acht.

The second show in Germany, not very far away, in Berlin. Only about two and a half hours in the car, so I had time to write my Hamburg tour report before leaving from the rest stop, then I was on my way to Berlin (no speed control this time, I think *g*), and even though I didn’t really go the way I had planned, I didn’t have any trouble finding the club. I almost ran over the sound guy when going past, but then I decided not to, wanted to see the concert… *g* And then there even was a parking space close by, I could meet a dear friend, find an internet café to put my report online, something to eat and then it was already 8 pm and time for the show!
